This educational APP embodies, as a legacy, our accumulative experience from running the educational component of the “Non-Convention Water Resources Programme in the Mediterranean” (NCWR) for a decade (2008-2018). [1]
The APP content is based on the principles of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and aspires to cultivate inquiry, creativity and problem-solving skills and to inspire responsible water consumption habits.
The APP is designed to be played directly by the students, with or without the guidance of the teacher. The main target group is ages from 10 to 13 years old, however, many activities can be tried by older or younger students.
The APP can be accessed by PCs, laptops, smart phones and tablets, offering various ways of interaction. It does not require downloads neither subscriptions, you just visit the page and play!
The APP was launched in 2019 with 14 sections and, will be hopefully expanded in the next years.

[1] The NCWRs Programme run in many water scarce islands of Greece, but also in Malta, Cyprus and Sicily, under the coordination of GWP-Med. Its educational component, that included school interventions, authoring of resources and trainings was implemented by the MEdIES team of MIO-ECSDE. The main objective of the 10 year long educational plan was to raise awareness and sensitize the educational community on the crucial issue of Non-Conventional Water Resources throughout the Mediterranean. During this decade some 35.000 students were engaged in school interventions and more than 5.000 teachers were trained.
