2024 marks the halftime for the SDGs and according to the World’s Largest Lesson, if we’re going to win in the “second half” we will all need the skills, mindset and passion to do so.

Education is crucial to the achievement of the Goals yet recent data and reports show that children and young people want to see education transformed to be made more relevant and fit for purpose. There’s a mismatch here to be resolved.

The report “Ready, Willing and Able?” explores the competencies that young people need to take action for sustainability issues. It showcases programmes from around the world who are currently developing these competencies and set out a series of recommendations to expedite competency development for more young people.
