In response to urgent global challenges and marking the half-way point of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for 2030 framework, the Conference will generate renewed momentum for ESD and provide strategic guidance for the next five years.

Hosted by UNESCO and the Government of Kenya,  the Conference will provide an opportunity for countries and partners to exchange experiences, discuss emerging priorities, and identify areas where regional and global collaboration can accelerate progress in Education for Sustainable Development.

Call for Proposals Now Open

The Call for Proposals is now open. If you are interested in contributing to the Conference by co-organizing a parallel session, we invite you to submit your proposal through the following form: Call for Proposals for Parallel Sessions
Submission deadline: 31 August 2026
Stakeholders other than governments are welcome to express their interest in participating in the Conference by submitting a proposal to co-organize a parallel session. Applicants must represent an institution or organization that is actively engaged in ESD. Please note that individual applications are not eligible, and only one proposal may be submitted per organization.
 

Consultation on the Nairobi Consensus

The draft outcome document, the Nairobi Consensus, has been developed with the support of the Advisory Group for the World Conference. We are currently seeking feedback to help ensure that the document reflects diverse regional perspectives and priorities.
