Tune into the UNESCO-UNFCCC’s Webinar Series, on the road to COP27, which is dedicated to the goal of greening every education policy and curriculum to be climate ready. Taking place on the last Tuesday of every month, each of the 8 episodes (1 hour long webinars with invited experts) will explore the critical role of climate change education, and how to harness its transformative power. The episodes will lead up to COP27 which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on 7-18 November 2022.
Dates: Last Tuesday of every month from April to November 2022 (26 April – 31 May – 28 June – 26 July – 30 August – 27 September – 25 October – 29 November 2022).
Session 1: Why Climate Change Education for Social Transformation? (April), The discussion explored a review on where the gaps in education policies and curriculum are, and where do we want to go in view of the needed social transformation towards decarbonisation and sustainability as well as the renewed understanding of climate change education today.
Session 2: How climate change knowledge can become action? (May). The webinar reviewed the core skills, values and actions as well as knowledge that are required for transformative climate change education that will bring about social change.
