UNESCO’s Global Action Programme (GAP) was launched at the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development
(ESD) in November 2014 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. It focused on generating and scaling up ESD action at all levels and in all areas
of education, and in all sustainable development sectors. To this end, the GAP identified five Priority Action Areas and created the respective five Key Partners Networks on: 1) Advancing Policy 2) Transforming learning and training environments; 3) Building capacities of educators and trainers; 4) Empowering and mobilizing youth; and 5) Accelerating sustainable solutions at local level.  MEdIES is an Official GAP Partner under the priority action area 1 on Advancing Policy (co-chair).
