Hosted by the Unit of Education for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Unit of EESD), Cyprus Pedagogical Institute (CPI), Nicosia
Half way through the PARCCE project, the nine project partners met in Nicosia for 1.5 day to assess progress made so far, to exchange on the lessons learned, to recommend adjustments, to agree on the next course of action, based on the project planning and indicators, and to explore dissemination opportunities, after the project is finished.
There were 15 in-person and 9 online participants in our hybrid meeting.
During the meeting, the partners celebrated the project achievements, particularly the finalisation of the Traditional Education Material (TEM) on Climate Change in the partner languages, and its implementation deployment in the partner schools and beyond. One project finding that gives us hope for the future is that students’ awareness and sensitivity to climate change have increased, according to the preliminary survey conducted with pre-post questionnaires.
The conversion of TEM to “Innovative Education Material” (IEM), utilizing Augmented Reality (AR), is the next significant project milestone. During the next school year (2025-2026) the teachers from the partner countries will continue to implement TEM, participate in national webinars on both TEM and IEM, implement the IEM material, and, why not, ask their students to design themselves AR-based content on Climate Change. National multiplier events are expected in all countries, while the Final project Conference will take place in Italy in October 2026.
The consortium warmly thanks the Unit of Education for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Unit of EESD), that kindly hosted us in Nicosia.
