Some positive news from the EU where the European Commission’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) Committee voted to ban intentionally added microplastics in products such as detergents, cosmetics and medical devices.
#BreakFreeFromPlastic and #Rethink Plastic Alliance members have welcomed the vote but also draw attention to the many loopholes that will prevent the ban from being quickly put into effect.
