The Appennino tosco-emiliano Biosphere Reserve organises an educational tour to present the results of Life agriCOlture project , co-financed by the European Union as part of the 2018 LIFE Climate Change Mitigation programme. The project aims to introduce, in mountain areas affected by hydrogeological instability and abandonment, governance actions and agronomic best practices of sustainable soil management in order to demonstrate their effectiveness in the accumulation and conservation of organic carbon and in the recovery of marginal and unstable agricultural soils

The educational tour is addressed in particular to Biosphere Reserves coordinators and mangers, farmers and breeders, agronomists, agricultural trade associations, technicians and administrators of municipalities or local authorities, representatives of Local Action Groups operating in Biosphere Reserves or more generally in rural mountain areas.

The educational tour, scheduled from 6 to 8 September 2023 in the Appennino Reggiano area (part of the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese production district), will give to the participants the possibility   to meet the protagonists (farmers, breeders, local administrators, agronomists) of the good practices of sustainable agriculture have been tested thanks to the project.

All costs related to the participation in the educational tour are covered by the project and that it will also be possible to provide partial reimbursement of travel expenses to reach the meeting point (then we will all travel together on a bus).
