UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning’s launches the Learning Cities webinar series on 20 March with ‘Building green, inclusive and climate-resilient urban communities – the learning cities approach’
The series of webinars will explore a variety of topics related to learning city development, with an emphasis on how the climate crisis affects local communities. Special attention will be given to examining the connections between the climate emergency and other thematic areas of focus within the global network, including education for sustainable development, lifelong learning for health and global citizenship education. The primary goal of the webinars is to facilitate exchange and peer-learning among GNLC members.
The webinars will take place on Zoom from 13:00 to 14:00 (CET/CEST) on the third Wednesday of each month starting on Wednesday, 20 March, and ending on Wednesday, 20 November 2024 as follows:
- 20 March 2024 on Multi-stakeholder approaches to addressing local-level climate challenges
- 17 April 2024 on How climate assemblies can support greening communities
- 15 May 2024 on Building capacities for an eco-friendly future: the importance of green skills
- 19 June 2024 on How digital learning can promote climate education in urban communities
- 17 July 2024 on Charting a lifelong learning strategy for climate action
- 21 August 2024 on Empowering institutions and communities to drive learning for climate action
- 18 September 2024 on Building resilient cities: promoting green and healthy urban environments
- 16 October 2024 on Countering climate disinformation: Strengthening GCED and media literacy
- 20 November 2024 on Shifting paradigms: Fostering sustainable lifestyles and rethinking our relationship with nature
