Between 16 and 22 February 2020, three staff and consultants of the MEdIES secretariat travelled to Bologna (Italy) to participate in a training course entitled “Intercultural Learning and Cultural Diversity in the classroom”. The week-long course, aimed to help us, formal and non-formal educators, develop our cultural awareness as well as to give us tools and new approaches to cater to a multicultural and ethnically diverse group of students.

The mobility was possible thanks to an Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) grant for adult educators. The three delegates from the MEdIES team were, namely, Iro Alampei, Vassilis Psallidas and Maria Dimopoulou. The course providers were the Erasmus Learning Academy (ELA). All in all, the training course was attended by 10 participants from Croatia, Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain, with whom we exchanged good practices and we had insightful discussions on the diversity challenges on our work environments.

As a follow-up to the training course, the MEdIES Secretariat foresees the organization of an info session or seminar with Greek teachers, in order to share the tools and resources we used, and transfer the knowledge we gained.
