The Zero Drop project in Folegandros coordinated by the GWP-Med  is aiming at enhancing the water capacity and availability of this arid Aegean island, that is confronting great water pressures particularly from the tourism sector during the summer period.

This is done through a mix of targeted technical interventions (together with an educational and awareness raising component) tailor-made for the specificities of the island. The technical component includes the drilling of seawater boreholes to be used for the feeding of the existing seawater desalination units in Folegandros Island as well as for the rejection of the produced brine.
