Mobility Ambassadors

- WHO: ECOCITY NGO is a non for profit environmental organization founded engaged for more than 20 years in promoting environmental responsibility and improve the quality of urban life through citizen participation, scientific collaboration, and policy innovation. https://www.ecocity.gr Be Positive -Institute of Mental Health & Wellbeing since 2011 evolved from a volunteer group to a CSO active in promoting mental health and wellbeing across society, particularly among vulnerable groups, through empowerment programs, education, and collaboration. https://be-positive.gr
- WHAT IS IT ABOUT: It is a youth-centered civic and environmental education initiative designed to empower students to become agents of change in their communities by promoting sustainable urban mobility and inclusive local governance. The project’s main objective is to cultivate long-term, structured pathways of collaboration between youth, educators, and municipal authorities—placing young people at the core of participatory democracy and climate action.
- WHEN: from October 2025 till September 2026
- WHERE: In Ilioupolis city, Attica Region, Greece.
- WHOM: It mainly targets students aged 14–17 with emphasis on lower secondary students and students from Special Education Schools (through the FREEMOBILITY stream), who often lack access to civic education, encounter barriers in mobility, suffer from urban environmental challenges (e.g., noise and air pollution), and are rarely included in decision-making processes. The action engages also the educators, particularly newly appointed or substitute teachers as well as municipal actors, such as local officials, youth departments, families, and civic associations, who play a critical role in shaping public space and influencing behavioral patterns in mobility and sustainability
Mobility Ambassadors offers a bold, scalable, and measurable model for civic transformation bridging schools and city halls, transforming both into labs of democracy, inclusion, and sustainability; including interactive workshops on climate change, sustainable mobility, and environmental justice; Youth-led “Eco-Missions”; Co-creation labs; Youth–Municipality Simulation Councils and a National Youth Eco Forum! Hoping to serve as a template for broader adoption by other municipalities across Greece and Europe.

The project is intentionally designed with inclusive, low-barrier activities that build practical skills, cultivate emotional well-being and reconnect youth with land, community and purpose.
Roots of CARE responds to growing challenges faced by young people today, including social isolation, eco-anxiety, degraded urban spaces and the lack of youth voice in ecological futures. Through permaculture, regenerative education and participatory action, the project empowers youth to become local agents of care, regeneration and inclusion.

Youth Empowerment Festival

Youth Empowerment Festival
- WHO: The Beehive Community is a social cooperative with the mission to help mainly young people self-improve, build on their social and emotional intelligence and experience the process of how personal change can lead to social change. https://the-beehive.org
- NEVRONAS is an independent Greek digital platform created and led by people with and without disabilities, dedicated to raising awareness and fostering education around disability, neurodiversity, accessibility, and inclusion. www.nevronas.gr
- WHAT IS IT ABOUT: YEF is our collective response to a world that urgently needs more connection and care. A two-day, open-access festival creating a vibrant, inclusive, and safe space where young voices are heard, celebrated, and empowered and a deeper connection between young people and nature is nurtured, promoting sustainable lifestyles, and encouraging active care for the planet and all living beings. The festival will offer a rich program of panel discussions, world cafe, community building practices, engagement hubs, non-formal experiential workshops, games, artistic performances, film showings, and more —organized across six key themes: connection with nature, mental and physical wellbeing, creative empowerment, rights and advocacy, community building, and active citizenship.
- WHEN: from October 2025 to September 2026
- WHERE: Attica region (the specific venue of the festival will be announced soon!).
- WHOM Our target group consists of young people (18-30 years old) who live in the wider Athens area. An important fraction of the group are LGBTQI+ and people with disabilities. Many of them have lower income and are likely bachelor’s degree students. Identifying who they are has helped decide on what activities our action should involve, who our partners should be and how to make the festival accessible to them, through the consideration of mobility constraints, sight impairments and economic accessibility.
Youth Empowerment Festival a safe and inclusive space, where everyone is welcome promoting zero waste practices, aiming to go beyond an one-off event but rather to create an institution!
