Happy New Year! What a year 2022 has been for ESD at the levels of both policy and action! Starting from its recognition at the EC Council Recommendation, to the Mediterranean Strategy on ESD and its revised Action Plan towards 2030, up to the more recent COP27 on Climate Change and COP15 on Biodiversity, where the value of education was recognized as a necessary prerequisite for the much talked about transformation of our societies towards sustainability. As 2022 marked a gradual alleviation of the pandemic and an increase of in-person meetings, we were happy to witness a bloom in ESD activities by/in/for schools and organisations, all over the region, keeping the momentum high for increased awareness, responsible consumption, climate action and SDGs advocacy.
