We were very excited to co-organise together with COB the study visit of the Greek CARE Pilot Actions to COB facilities and the Neapoli Urban Food Forest on 27-29 March 2026.

The study visit took place in the context of exchange, peer-learning and collaborative impact assessment of the Greek CARE Actions and was agreed since their first meeting in Athens (September 2025). 11 people participated in the 3-days planned activities from MIO-ECSDE, COB, ECOCITY NGO, the Beehive Comminity accompanied by Dr Andreas Hatzidakis, co-writer of the CARE Manifesto.

During the first day, the group particated in a guided visit to the facilities, the settlings and the farm of the COB eco-community, by Mr Costas Kontomanos, COB coordinator as well as in hands-on activities in the farm; while they held the internal mid-term meeting in the afternoon, during which they exchanged on the process of the implementation of their projects, sharing achievements so far, planning of next steps as well as ideas to overcome incured challenges.

On 28 and 29 March the group participated in the 2-days activities organised by COB and Mamagea in the Neapoli Urban Food Forest – the first of its kind in Greece (!) including participatory hands-on eco-literacy activities for the public about: soil ecology, community composting, construction of a community composting model, seasonal care for the forest (pruning, green manure), plant identification/registration as well as co-design of learning activities tailor-made for the forest.

The group experienced the study visit as a very engaging, rich in learning and exchanging activity while we committed for organising a next to come!
