The four-day experiential seminar for Greek teachers titled “Animation as a Tool in Education for Sustainable Development: The Case of Anthropogenic Climate Change” is organized on 24-25 January and 7-8 February 2025, under the framework of the PARCCE Erasmus+ program and co-hosted by the Environmental Education Centers (KEPEA) of Sikyonion and Drapetsona, in collaboration with educational and scientific institutions, and with the support of local authorities.

The seminar, conducted in Kiato, Corinthia, and is designed for educators of kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools (gymnasiums), and high schools (lyceums). Its aim is to promote innovative teaching practices that utilize the art of animation and creative storytelling to address environmental and social challenges, with a strong focus on climate change.

The seminar aims to develop skills enabling educators to use animation techniques and tools to create short videos that can be implemented by their own students. Through hands-on workshops, participants will learn how to create scripts, storyboards, puppets, and animations using software such as Blender and Audacity, while mastering specialized techniques like stop-motion animation.

A significant emphasis is placed on collaborative learning, integrating Education for Sustainable Development, Climate Change Education, Education for Diversity and Inclusion, and the whole school approach. The theme of climate change runs throughout the seminar, offering participants both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to effectively incorporate it into their teaching.
