In collaboration with GWP-Med, MIO-ECSDE/MEdIES runs systematically in Greece the Campaign “Water in the City / the Gift of Rain” that is aspiring to create a new water-culture in young studend. The Campaign has been approved by the Greek Education Ministry, and has been implemented for more than 15 years in various regons of Greece.

  •  School Interventions in Attica-2025: Between November and December MEdIES staff visited 6 schools in Athens and engaged some 760 students of Primary Schools in hands-on playful activities in order to sensitise them on topics around the water cycle, NCWRs and responsible water consumption.
  • Teachers Trainings: Between November an December 2025, in total 79 teachers have been sensitised and trained on carrying out water interventions with their students.
  • The awareness poster in Attica-2025 : A sensitisation and awareness poster has been developed to be handed out to students and teachers of Athens.

Download the Educational Poster “Water in the City” in Greek language. The poster was prepared for the region of Attica, and was handed out to all students and teachers that participated in the School interventions.
