The year 2021 is a crucial year for biodiversity, during which new objectives and new commitments will be made for the coming decade. In this context UNESCO organises the Biodiversity Forum (online) on 24 March 2021 from 13:00  to 17:30pm CET to host discussions and brainstorming among prestigious guests and committed actors from all over the world to the benefit of biodiversity.

The Inaugural session will celebrate the 50th  anniversary of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme! while in Session 1 the common challenges : Climate, Biodiversity and Ocean.  Session 2 aims to catalyse transformative ocean science solutions for sustainable development, connecting people and our ocean and Session will discuss a roadmap for action towards an ecological and solidarity-based transition, building also on the practices and solutions shared by the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
