Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find attached a letter by the Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information of UNESCO, inviting all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Foundations maintaining official relations with UNESCO to submit nominations for the 2017 UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Generously funded by the Government of Japan, the UNESCO-Japan Prize on ESD consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient. It was established by the UNESCO Executive Board at its 195th session, and awarded for the first time in 2015.
The 2017 nomination process takes place online via a platform accessible through the UNESCO website: http://unesco.org/esd

Should you have already submitted an online nomination for the 2016 edition of the Prize, your user name and password remain valid.
A user guide for the use of the online platform can be downloaded here.
The Prize Statutes (Annex II of the letter) can be accessed here.
All nominations should be submitted to UNESCO via the online form in English or French by 2 May 2017 at the very latest (midnight, Paris time).

The 2017 UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) was just anbnounced inviting the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Foundations maintaining official relations with UNESCO to submit nominations. The Prize is funded by the Government of Japan and consists of 3 awards of 50,000USD for each recipient!
